I love seeing some of the couples from the previous books and to see Brent FINALLY getting his HEA!!!

Looking back on our lives we can all see mistakes, and often defining moments, that we will always wonder if I could change it, what would happen. This is a story about second chances, we can't go back and change the past but maybe we can change the future.
Brent knows exactly that moment in his life and he has regretted it ever since, and yes his life went off the tracks but it shows his strength of character that he brings it back and then wants to reach out and help horses in need, but now Casey is back and he doesn't want to mess it up but if he doesn't tell the truth things will go badly and if he does tell the truth he's not sure what will happen.
Casey went on with her life but there was always the feeling that something was missing, then she met Brent again and she knew what it was. Now things are going missing but is she too wrapped up in Brent to notice. I loved Casey, she has come out of a toxic marriage but she still has herself mostly intact, and that is not always easy to do she still lacks confidence in certain areas but with Brent's help these will recover too.
This is a story about two wounded souls finally finding each other, now if they can get past all the baggage they may have a chance at love, not forgetting that there may be someone wanting to stop them ever getting together.
Although I believe that this story is part of a series this is the first one I have read but it won't be the last as I got so caught up in the characters lives and I would love or read more of this author.

Brent & Casey….I sooooo love them!!!! What a great story! Loved!!!!
Casey has come back to her hometown after her somewhat easy divorce. There were no kids involved and her x seemed more than willing to let her go so they could both move on. She’s moved, temporarily, in with her mom but the story opens with her mom out of town and Casey fantasizing about the guy installing a new roof on the house across the street…..
Brent has lived in his small town pretty much forever. He’s also loved Casey forever, well since childhood. He messed up with her when he had the chance but he’s never forgot her and his life has taken the path it’s taken as a direct result of her decisions. His past is something that can come between them and he’s scared about how she’s going to deal with it. Once it comes out can Casey understand and accept Brent with all his flaws?
On top of dealing with his stuff they are dealing with her’s too. She had 4 miscarriages with her x husband and ultimately was the reason for divorce. He cheated to get a child. Will Brent be ok with possibility not having children?
They have so much to overcome. Will they be able to move forward? Will their love for each other finally be enough for them both? Can they find the same page in each other’s book of life and have the future they were always supposed to have?
I loved this book! Such a wonderful story and amazing characters. There’s mystery and a level of compassion that’s not normal for hot men! Yes…HOT - this book is very HOT!!!! Highly Recommend!!!!
Mistakes, they're no big deal. Everybody makes them. But the mistake Brent made back in high school changed his and Casey's life forever. Now, he has a chance to have a second chance, but it will take a lot of work.
This book is wonderful story about 2 people who get a second chance. Their feelings for each other haven't changed since high school. Sparks are flying when they are around each other. But there are so many things to overcome.
I was drawn to Brent. He just seemed like perfect boyfriend material. Yes, he walked away from Casey, but he did it with the best intentions. As a result, he ended up in a very dark place in his life. But he's getting his life back on track and is volunteering his time to take care of abandoned and abused horses. He is so gentle, caring, and patient with them, perfect boyfriend qualities.
Casey is guarding her heart. After finally getting out of an emotionally abusive relationship, she is trying to get her confidence back. She's trying to trust Brent, but she feels he's hiding something. Then strange things start happening and Brent becomes very protective of her. I enjoyed this story from beginning to end.
There were some frustrating parts, communication seems to be an issue with these two. But watching them work through everything to finally get their HEA was worth it in the end.
Although this is book 7 in the series, it can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read any of the other books in the series, At no point while I was reading did I feel like I was missing something. I also couldn't figure out the focus of any of the other books, I don't think they came up. This book focuses totally on Brent and Casey.

Who hasn't wondered what would happen if reunited with your first love- would you feel the same and would they return it? Fantastic story about first love coming back around and conquering any demons together... including one not expected. Once again I could not put this book down. Another great book Anne!!
This is a beautiful story of two people who loved early, parted and reconnected. Now they deal with the secrets and baggage we all carry from living, hoping they won't be torn apart. Can love overcome fear? I love that both Casey and Brent have things in their past that are so real and they work at being honest with themselves and each other. Will they get their happy ever after or will they fall apart? You will be cheering for them, I promise.
